The Louis XVI style was a return to classicism looking to Greek and Roman culture for inspiration. Characteristics of this style were architectural ornamentation, classic symmetry, geometric marquetry, decorative escutcheons, small mechanized elements, and the predominant use of mahogany with linear gilt bronze mounts that emphasized veneers.
This is a very rare and unique piece.
Comes with a marble top which has some damage. Its been cracked in a few places and currently held on with tape.
The table itself is in good condition.
The marble on the inside is not damaged or cracked.
